There is a group of students from schools across Waterloo Region that meet every week at the Canadian Mental Health Association. Team members are trained to be aware of sensitive youth issues and address such topics as: bullying, youth suicide, gang violence, homophobia and racism. With the support of the WAYVE facilitators this team researches, creates and delivers a large assembly style presentation that incorporates music, sound, video and drama.
These unique presentations that are given to high school and senior elementary students in the Region target many issues that youth face in today’s society. Over the past 8 years, the Regional Team has delivered their message to over 35,000 students. This team has won numerous awards in the community for their dedication and hard work on tackling youth issues.
